Towards the end of 2007 we started having more than just a little trouble with our website as our previous Administrator fell off the edge of the planet and the Domain Host was taken over by a very large service provider. Suddenly we were just a number and getting service became a problem. What did the old site look like?
The GATCSA EB also felt that our old website was not very effective and that a website can play a much more prominent role as a communication tool than what the old site was able to support. A new web designer (Riebens Systems, located in ‘Maritzburg) was contracted to build a new website for GATCSA. The process took much longer than anticipated due to many, many different factors, but finally we are in a position to introduce the NEW GATCSA website to you.
Our idea is for the website to be the central tool of communication inside GATCSA. The EB will keep the site up to date with developments and the onus is on you, the members to visit the site regularly to keep yourself up to date with the latest developments in GATCSA.
We are also inviting contribution from all our members towards the website. It is really up to us to either turn this site into the heartbeat of GATCSA or to let it wither away like the old site. Feel free to explore the site at your own leisure.
To get access to the GATCSA information you have to register and then log in. Please fill in all the fields correctly when you register as the database on the website is now the official GATCSA membership database.
You can read about GATCSA and IFATCA under Organisation, see who is who under Portfolios, follow what is happening in Administration, Policy, Professional, Technical, Financial etc under Business and much more. Download all the information we brought back from the Arusha Conference in March 2008 and more.
We also included a Forum where we can all share the latest gossip. You will have to register independently on the Forum as we also allow Guests (non GATCSA members) to participate in the Forum. The Forum is open to the public for reading.
